slaughter

The NSPCA is opposed to the slaughter of any animals unless they are instantaneously killed, or rendered instantaneously unconscious and insensible to pain prior to the throat being cut and death supervening.

The NSPCA advocates the effective pre-stunning of every animal prior to slaughter – to minimise the distress and pain to the animal.

Abattoirs are regularly monitored by NSPCA Inspectors.
