Relief for dogs and cats

The NSPCA promotes animal welfare education and responsible pet ownership for the benefit of both animals and people. Through outreach programmes in the poorer areas of our country, particularly rural areas, we are able to sterilise animals, offer primary health care and encourage satisfactory standards of care for companion animals. Positive advice and assistance is also offered to address feral cat problems. NSPCA vigorously opposes the legalisation of dog racing in South Africa and condemns the abuse of animals for “sport”, since the risk of injury is increased in competitive sports. Dogs also feature prominently in the security industry and the NSPCA works to implement improved training, handling and working conditions for these working dogs.

By reaching out you help animals in impoverished areas:

  • R25 will deworm a 10 kg dog.
  • R50 will dip 10 dogs.
  • R100 will buy a blanket for a cold animal.
  • R100 will buy a bag of dog food.
  • R100 will buy a collar and leash.
  • R350 will pay for the medication and materials to sterilise an animal.

We prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate the suffering of animals.

Reporting animal cruelty to your local SPCA directly will ensure that the animal is reached faster
