Suzette Kotze admitted to hate speech in the Equality Court held at Klerksdorp Magistrates Court.

In 2015 the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) laid a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) following a statement made by a former employee of the Matlosana SPCA. Kotze, now running the Stilfontein / Matlosana Animal Shelter, published a statement on a WhatsApp group that constitutes hate speech.

Racist Kotze published in an SPCA Support Group: “May the lord forgive me but I wish all whore mother f***er k*****s die a horrible suffering death”

In accordance with the court order; Kotze has been interdicted and restrained by the court from publishing, propagating, advocating or communicating hate speech as defined in section 10(1) of the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act 4 of 2000. The court also ordered Kotze to undergo sensitivity training at an accredited institution that provides training on diversity, anti-racism and the promotion of racial equality.

The NSPCA condemns racism and hate speech in any form. Racism and hate speech has no place in the SPCA movement. We support all endeavours to stamp out racism in our Country.
