The general message of Mandela Day is to celebrate the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world. The ability to make an impact.

How to help:

We encourage all our supporters to devote some time on this day to touch the lives of animals.

If you are unable to devote 67 minutes of your time, donate R67 to help animals. Click here and please use the reference: 67

Every year NSPCA Inspectors commemorate Mandela Day by working towards uplifting standards of care of all species of animals.

Our mandate is to prevent cruelty to all animals.  People and animals are inextricably linked.  Where there are people there are animals.  In upholding the principles of kindness, compassion, understanding and empathy, we submit our tribute to our late Patron-in-Chief, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Most people will scroll past this. But will you be the one who stands up for animals?

Animal welfare isn’t always in the spotlight, but it changes lives – for every neglected, abused, or suffering animal we help. Our teams work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, ensuring animals across South Africa are protected.

This work is relentless. The challenges are immense. But with more hands, hearts, and resources, we can do even more.

The equation is simple: the more supporters we have, the greater our reach, the stronger our impact.

Be part of the change. Become an NSPCA Project Partner today. From just R50 per month, you can help ensure that no animal suffers in silence.
