SUPPORT OUR CROWDFUNDER

Different.org is an online crowdfunding philanthropy platform. With running costs being funded by Different Life, 100% of donations go to the project. No monthly subscriptions. No commission on donations. No credit card fees. This ensures that every cent goes to the project you love, to maximise impact.

The NSPCA’s Wildlife Protection Unit is raising funds to keep up its work for wildlife and all wild animals in captivity. The unit travels all over South Africa to investigate tip-offs and complaints relating to indigenous and exotic wildlife, and also proactively inspects facilities that deal with wild animals.

We are aiming to reach R 100 000 for the wildlife unit by 31 July 2020. Please donate to our cause or share our project far and wide! The plus side is if you donate you’ll receive updates about the progress of the Wildlife Unit and how far we are from reaching our goal.

FUNDRAISE FOR US

Thanks to GlobalGiving, below are a few resources that can be used to raise funds on our behalf.

The use of the NSPCA logo without permission is strictly forbidden (there are legal repercussions involved) and may not be used as a way to raise funds without our permission, but fear not! The easy online donations makes that the donations you collect are paid straight into a safe account through a reliable and credible website. In order to conduct fundraising for the NSPCA contact comms2@nspca.co.za.

What type of fundraiser do you want to be?

The Challenger:

A person that commits to doing something extraordinary upon achievement of a fundraising goal. Sport events for cycling, completing a triathlon, dumping ice on your head, driving your vintage car halfway across the country are all amazing ways to do this!

The Influencer:

Praises past donors to become part of a positive movement. Tag friends on Facebook who have contributed to any past campaigns, asking these people to each tell their friends about their donation to your cause. Send public notes of gratitude to friends who’ve donated to your cause.

The Specifier:

A person that frames fundraising in a very specific, often numerical terms. For example request R100 from 10 friends. Ask 12 Friends to share your Facebook post before the end of the day. Share a photo or statistic every hour for 24 hours, and ask 24 people to each donate R24.

The Inviter:

Recruits a team of friends, who each commits to raising a certain amount, attending an event, or taking a select action in pursuit of a larger charitable goal. Organise a casual “jeans day” at the office – in exchange for a donation to your cause, colleagues wear jeans. Recruit five friends to raise R500 each for your cause in three weeks. Host a movie night, where the price of admission is a donation to the NSPCA.

Send an e-mail to comms2@nspca.co.za if you are interested in hosting a fundraiser.

Matched Funds is an additional donation contributed directly to the NSPCA from a donor, company or community partner. Your company, for example, will donate the same amount to the NSPCA as you choose to donate. This can be a once-off payment or an annual contribution. Send us an e-mail on comms2@nspca.co.za with the relevant contact details and we will send a formal letter to your organisation, company or even friend, challenging them to match the donation! It can’t hurt to try!

Payroll-giving is donations from your company’s CSI investment fund, given to you, so that you, as the employee may choose to donate this amount to the non-profit of your choice (NSPCA). This can be done in either monitory donation or time off to spent at or helping your chosen charity. Find out from your HR representative if your company participates in payroll giving and donate to the animals.
