Far from land, far from help, far from mercy, animals exported live by sea endure a suffering few will ever witness.

Every year, South African farm animals are herded onto crowded cargo ships bound for distant countries. There, in sweltering heat and filth, they face weeks of terror. Many fall ill. Some are trampled. Others die. The rest arrive only to face brutal slaughter on foreign shores.

This painting bears witness to their journey. It is a tribute to the unseen, and a rallying cry for justice. The NSPCA has long fought to end the practice of live export, gathering evidence, challenging industry, and holding those responsible to account.

🛳️ All proceeds from this artwork support our ongoing efforts to stop live animal export.
