Court Proceedings Notice: On 21 April 2022 the NSPCA issued a summons out of the Eastern Cape High Court, Grahamstown under Case No. 1238/2022 in which it seeks to stop the live exports of sheep by sea from South Africa to any destination north of the equator, including the Middle East on the limited basis that many of the sheep subjected to this practice endure unacceptably high levels of suffering caused by a condition known as heat stress which produces a contravention of various provisions in the Animals Protection Act. Interested and affected parties may apply to Court to join the proceedings, and are invited to contact Mr Dean Wright and Ms Dominique Lloyd from Wright Inc at Dean@Wrightinc.co.za and Dom@Wrightinc.co.za for electronic copies of the Court papers.
