UPDATE: ITEC Head Office has successfully installed our new telephone system. Our Telephones are in full working order again. – 08.01.2019

Original Story published on 20 December 2018:

The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) signed a contract with the Itec Group in December 18, to upgrade our switchboard and telephone system, only to be left without communications.

We issued a Media Statement on 20 December 2018 after issues with the new telephone system did not get resolved, despite numerous complaints and follow ups with the Itec Group.

Technicians from the Itec Group have been working on our telephone lines since then, yet the issues experienced are still not resolved. The first attempt to install the system was on 12 December, to date we have a system that works randomly for incoming and outgoing calls.

Since the 12th of December until now, the phones work randomly which we believe has caused possible suffering to animals or certainly a delay in addressing complaints.

The NSPCA requests that members of the public report any animal emergencies or cruelty matters to the nearest SPCA.

Local SPCA telephone numbers are available here: www.nspca.co.za/spcas-in-sa/

Alternatively, contact our offices on 079 872 3662 between the hours of 08:30am and 16:30pm.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to any of you, our supporters, and we thank you for your understanding and patience.

It is clear that Itec has failed with the installation of the system.  We have advised them to remove their equipment forthwith.

We further thank the legal profession for their assistance offered.

If you are as passionate about animals and their well-being as we are, consider supporting our causes by donating.
